Anonymous ≠ permission to harm
NYMZO is designed to make honest communication easier. It is not designed to give people a free pass to threaten, exploit, harass, deceive, or harm someone else.
Think about the person receiving your message before you press send.
01
Respect Other People
Honest opinions, jokes, criticism, and uncomfortable conversations can be part of human communication. But NYMZO should not be used as a tool to deliberately harm another person.
Consider the context, frequency, severity, and likely impact of what you send. A message being anonymous does not remove your responsibility for what you choose to say.
02
Harassment & Bullying
Do not use NYMZO to harass, bully, intimidate, humiliate, or repeatedly target another person.
Not allowed
- Repeated targeted abuse or unwanted harassment.
- Messages intended primarily to humiliate or intimidate someone.
- Encouraging other people to harass or pile onto someone.
- Severe degrading attacks directed at an individual.
- Using multiple messages or accounts to continue unwanted abuse.
03
Threats & Violence
Do not use NYMZO to make credible threats of violence, encourage violence against another person, or celebrate serious harm directed at an identifiable individual.
Content that appears to present an immediate or serious safety risk may receive heightened attention and may be preserved or handled as appropriate under applicable law.
04
Hate & Discrimination
Do not attack, threaten, or dehumanize people based on protected characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other characteristics protected by applicable law.
Criticism or discussion of ideas, beliefs, institutions, or public issues is different from targeting people with hateful abuse.
05
Sexual Content & Exploitation
Do not use NYMZO for sexual exploitation, sexual harassment, non-consensual intimate content, or sexually abusive conduct.
Zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation
Content that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children is prohibited. Do not use NYMZO to create, request, distribute, promote, or facilitate child sexual abuse or exploitation material or activity.
06
Self-Harm & Suicide
Do not encourage, pressure, instruct, or shame another person into self-harm or suicide.
Supportive conversations and genuine attempts to help someone are different from content that promotes or encourages harm.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service rather than relying on NYMZO.
07
Privacy & Personal Information
Respect other people's privacy. Do not use NYMZO to expose private or sensitive information about another person without authorization.
This can include:
- Home addresses or precise private locations.
- Passwords, authentication codes, or account credentials.
- Private financial information.
- Sensitive identification information.
- Other private information shared with the intention of putting someone at risk.
08
Impersonation & Deception
Do not impersonate another person or organization in a way intended to deceive, defraud, manipulate, or harm someone.
Do not falsely represent yourself as NYMZO staff or claim to have special access to information about anonymous senders.
09
Spam, Scams & Malicious Activity
Do not use NYMZO to distribute spam, scams, phishing attempts, malware, deceptive links, fraudulent offers, or other malicious content.
Attempts to manipulate, overload, scrape, attack, bypass, exploit, or gain unauthorized access to NYMZO or its systems are prohibited.
10
Illegal Activity
Do not use NYMZO to facilitate, organize, solicit, or promote activity that is unlawful under applicable law.
NYMZO may take appropriate action when content or activity presents legal, security, or safety concerns.
11
Reporting
If you receive a message that you believe violates these guidelines, you can use NYMZO's reporting tools to bring it to our attention.
Reports should be made in good faith. A report does not automatically mean that a violation occurred, and NYMZO may review the available context before deciding what action is appropriate.
Do not intentionally submit false reports or misuse reporting tools to target another user.
12
Enforcement
Where we reasonably determine that content or activity violates these guidelines, NYMZO may take action appropriate to the circumstances.
Possible actions include:
- Removing or restricting content.
- Limiting access to certain features.
- Restricting abusive activity.
- Suspending or terminating accounts.
- Preserving relevant information for safety or legal reasons.
- Taking other reasonable action needed to protect NYMZO or its users.
Enforcement may depend on factors such as severity, context, available evidence, repeated behavior, safety risk, and applicable legal requirements.
